About Me
My name is Sara El-Aziz. I was born and raised in the UK. I had a generally normal childhood which extended into a generally normal adulthood. At the advice of my parents I achieved my Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and consequently got a job in a Bank straight after graduation. So, why am I here you may ask? Well, during my last year in High School we were required to complete a one week work shadow program which meant that we had the opportunity to work anywhere we wished in order to see what it would be like to have a job, especially if it is a job you would like to actually have one day. Which job did I choose? I chose a nursery school teacher. It was amazing, I still remember that experience till this day. I loved every single moment of it. After that week was over, I had actually decided to become a teacher but I guess somewhere along the line I forgot that plan and went into banking instead. I had the opportunity to
I came across an opportunity to work part time at Berlitz English. It was an opportunity I really enjoyed. I was given the chance to do something I once enjoyed a long time ago, but with adults this time. It was only for a brief period of time, but I learned so much. I found that teaching adults was challenging in a good way, meaning I had to find ways to get their attention and to make them feel that they were not just here to memorise a bunch of rules then go home. I found that activities other than your basic role plays were vital not only for their enjoyment but to enable them to apply what they have learned practically. I must confess that I did find out that I needed to learn a lot more about teaching because being fluent in the language is not enough at all. Knowing how to teach and who you are teaching to me was just as, if not more, important than being fluent in a language. This brings me to the TEFL Course.

Why I Decided To Take The TEFL Course
I decided take the TEFL Course because I am eager for a career change. I want to get the job I have always wanted. However, I felt that if I really wanted to do this, I must do it the right way. I took the course because I wanted to make sure that when I walk into a class I am prepared, I want to know who I'm teaching and how, I want to know ways to keep them interested and eager to learn, I want to feel that I have all the knowledge and tools I need to teach English to all ages the right way. One of the main concerns I had was how to write a lesson proper plan. My experience at Berlitz English taught me that a lesson plan was vital, but I felt I still lacked the knowledge and skills to write an effective one. Thankfully, the TEFL Course promised to teach me all these things and more. I enjoyed the course immensely and learned a great deal more. This experience has also encouraged me to obtain even higher credentials such as a Diploma. I am looking forward to all that may come my way as I walk down this new path, only now can I say, I am a teacher.
